Nancy's Story
Like most young violinists, when Nancy began playing violin at the age of 11, she was trained in the style of classical music. However, by the time she reached her senior year of high school she began to explore how the violin could be used in other music genres... and the rest is history. As she continued to pursue music in college, she became known as the "hip-hop violinist" and then decided to test the waters of contemporary/modern worship music, leading her to collaborations with some of the best musicians in the Tampa Bay area. Unfortunately in recent years, as an openly queer Christian musician Nancy has faced rejection from other Christian musicians, breaking connections that previously provided her with consistent performance opportunities among other musicians. Many musicians that experience similar rejection from their faith communities walk away so traumatized that they can never pick up an instrument again. Needless to say, Nancy has certainly had to work to overcome the pain of the rejection she's faced to understand that she has so much more music to share and she is excited to share it with you! From weddings, to private events, to surprise serenades, and worship services, it brings Nancy joy to give you the music you want!
